Brno is a city in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. Located at the confluence of the Svitava and Svratka rivers, Brno has about 400 000 inhabitants, making it the second-largest city in the Czech Republic after the capital, Prague (more here). It is easily accessible from both Prague and Vienna airports (more about travel here).
The World Championship in Gomoku and Renju will take place at the Rubín Cultural Center (Makovského nám. 3166/3, see photos below), located in the quiet district of Brno-Žabovřesky, about 15 minutes by public transport from the city center. The tournament hall is right next to the Makovského náměstí stop for trolleybuses 34 and 36 (see here). The Žabovřesky district is a green area with good accessibility to both the city center and the recreational zone of the Brno Reservoir.
The cultural center complex also includes the Rubín restaurant, a popular and well-known spot in the area for its diverse selection of lunch menus and à la carte dishes (more here). There are many other restaurants and accommodation options in the area (more about accommodation here).
